Wishing all a Happy, Peaceful and Joy filled Christmas
As we approach once again that day in the year that all Christians and a large part of the world, celebrate, Christmas Day, I am sure we all have different recollections, expectations and hopes at Christmas.
For some it would be peace because they live in a place where violence, war, oppression are the current norm. For others it would be expecting time with family and friends and a rest from the pressures of life. For others it will be the hope that someone might notice them amidst all of the celebration and recognise them.
We look forward to time with family and friends, we enjoy the time in church celebrating the birth of Jesus, the one sent by God to bring hope, joy, love and peace. Perhaps for each of us there may be a chance to put that into action as we celebrate this Christmas?
There is, for us, always a tinge of sadness as we think of those we have celebrated with in the past who have died. But it also reminds us of those celebrations and of the fun of them.
Some of us will be preparing and celebrating without any real connection with the reason for the festivities, Jesus. Maybe there might be a moment to reflect upon who he is.
Casting Crowns - "Is there room in your heart?" I was listening to this song earlier and hope all of us, might find a moment to reflect on the season.
I hope you have a happy Christmas no matter your situation, I pray that you may find blessing in the season.
